Literature Text

i woke up to pouring rain and cracked jaws,
and my roof was leaking into my bed.
you kissed me good evening and i felt nothing.

you sang that song, singing "i got soul
but i'm not a soldier"
and you weren't, were you?
soldiers never give up, never leave anyone behind, never admit defeat.
but you did,
didn't you?

i woke up to the pouring rain and the taste of malicious intent.

i held gravity in my fingers and crushed it,
and when i floated out i heard you screaming
come back come back come back!
i felt chains breaking and universes shattering and my body shaking,
and i didn't feel you.

i woke up to sunshine and sat up in bed.
i cracked my jaw and held it in.

i held it in.
that felt like word vomit.
